HP Officejet Pro Wireless e-All-In-One - HP 8500A

The HP Officejet Pro Wireless e-All-In-One is sometimes called the HP 8500A.  HP calls this an e-All-In-One because it can print, scan, fax, and handles web apps

The HP 8500A has superb connectivity – wireless, wired, and USB support.  It even has ePrint and Apple Airport capabilities for Macbook and IPad support.

If you have a Macbook, iPad®, iPhone® or iPod touch®4 the AirPrint™ capability allows you to print with ease.  The HP the ePrint capability allows you to print from anywhere – if you can e-mail it… you can print to your printer.

The memory card slots support almost any card format for scanning, saving, printing documents or photos.  If your card isn’t support, you can use the convenient USB support to convert your memory card into a thumb drive (the converter is not included).

The easy-to-use 2.36-inch touchscreen guides you through the variety of print and settings options.  You can preview your photo’s and use it to navigate to the web or web applications.

This printer uses the HP 940 or HP 940XL ink cartridges.

 You can save money and consume up to 50% less paper using the automatic two-sided printing.   Printing on both sides won’t save you on the ink, use the XL cartridges to do that.  Do a mental calculation of how long it takes you to go through typical ream of paper (usually 500 pages).  Use this to determine if you want to go with the standard or XL cartridges.  In a typical setting the XL cartridges will save you 50% over using a laser printer. 

The HP 940 Black prints 1,000 pages in the standard cartridge and the HP 940XL Black prints 2,200 pages

The HP 940 Yellow prints 900 pages in the standard cartridge and HP 940XLYellow 1,400 pages  

 The HP 940 Cyan prints 900 pages in the standard cartridge and HP 940XL Cyan 1,400 pages  

The HP 940 Magenta prints 900 pages in the standard cartridge and HP 940XL Magenta 1,400 pages  

Your pages can be printed at an impressive maximum prints speeds of 35 pages per minute black and 34 ppm color from the 250-page paper tray.

The HP Officejet Pro Wireless e-All-In-One also has robust digital faxing options.   You can fax from the flatbed scanner or the 35 page Auto-Document Feeder (ADF).  No more opening the lid for each page of a contract or document.  Place them in the ADF and let the machine do the work.  The system will also let you fax files from your PC.
